Autonomous Lamp looks like the lamp from a certain animated film and behaves like it too: five servos let it follow you, look at what you are doing and reposition its light accordingly. Beyond the light it tracks posture, prompts you to drink water and holds a conversation, with skills drawn from an open store of more than seventy behaviours. It arrives assembled, which matters in a category where most desk robots ship as a kit. It is a novelty, but a surprisingly well-executed one.
