open_slate is built to be opened: the back comes off with a screwdriver, the battery, M.2 SSD, 5G module and AI accelerator are all user-replaceable, and it boots Android or Linux depending on what you need that day. Physical kill switches cut power to the camera, microphone, GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi at the circuit level rather than in software, which is a meaningful difference for anyone who does not trust a toggle. It is a repairable, upgradable tablet in a market that has spent a decade going the other way.
