Microduck is a 25cm biped with fifteen motors, a camera and LiDAR, plus a grasping beak, and it is meant to fall over: it walks, loses balance, recovers and gets up again, which is the whole point of the exercise. It also skates on its feet. Underneath it is an open-source platform for reinforcement-learning research and teaching, so you train behaviours on your own hardware rather than reading about someone else doing it, and it ships at a price that puts that within reach of a home lab.
