The GEN X-2 keeps the original Stylophone's charm, drag a stylus across a printed circuit and you are playing, and puts it in a body that can leave the house. An LFO, a filter and an analog delay give the tone some movement, the built-in speaker means it works on a park bench, and the CV/Gate outputs let it drive a Eurorack rig as an instrument rather than a novelty. Battery-powered and pocket-sized, it is the cheapest way to carry an analog synth in a coat pocket. Buy it if you want a sketchpad for ideas; skip it if you need a keyboard you can play properly.
